@Gabe - that's one impressive site - gives you all the dimensions you could want and more. Haven't tried it out yet but I am wondering if you can save it to disk in vector format or only in raster. Big thing is that it is free! I've seen these boxes in the past but never in an adjustable format.
Still using MTC but slowly migrating to SCAL. KNK cutters including the Force and Maxx Air continue to be my favourites. Fluent in other cutter languages.
I have demonstrated projects using items from this site during a number of Webinars. See how I used their matchbox template to build the Tissue Box Holder with a Drawer during the Sept 1, 2015 MTC/PCS Q&A Webinar.
I made a video today on this amazing web site and how to import the files. Since some of my customers use the embosser to created score lines, I wanted to show how easy it is to do this. I also show how to scale up the file to the design size from the web site. Thanks again, Gabe!
@Nichole, I use the KNK embosser (small side) to score the lines. And I use a force of 160 and 4 passes (on the Zing) so that the line is deep enough for folding. That way I don't need a soft surface... I can just use the cutting mat. I have a full tutorial called Scoring Foldup Projects on a KNK here: http://www.iloveknk.com/Support/Tutorials/Klic-N-Kut/Applications/
Does anyone know how to do this in Safari? I am Macdumb. I've been searching and can't figure this out...how to get it off of the internet page and into MTC...from Safari. Right clicking gives me the save page as button, which then gives me only the options to save as a web archive or page source. Thanks!
@roseofsharon you can use grab - it is like snipit in windows and save a screen capture, then pixel trace. Or if you only want a picture you can right click and save image as on your desktop.
@roseofsharon on that site you can export as svg or pdf. Save it to your desktop and from there import into MTC. On my mac I always save to my desktop cause I can get there inside of the wine interface easily to find my files again. That way I think all the dimensions are preserved. If not then it is easy to resize cause - of course an svg is a vector file and the pdf is also a vector file with this site. But generally if you screen capture - no you'll have to trace the image into MTC and resize cause it will be the size of your screen.
@leslie6111 I'm not using wine. And my only options on how to save it, is either as a web archive or page source, and neither of those works. Also, screen capturing won't work 'cause I can't see the whole thing at once, I have to scroll down to see it all, and can't make it smaller...or at least I don't know how. There has got to be a way to do this, and it's probably really simple! Thanks for trying to help me!
@roseofsharon I went on the template maker - I chose a template and then save as pdf. The pdf appears in my browser on the left side under file - chose export as pdf. In firefox the directions are different. I very rarely use safari and I am sorry I just messed up in my comment. I cannot do a screen capture since every time I grab this the headings under file disappear.
@roseofsharon You can save as svg in firefox but not safari as far as I can see. In firefox - if you chose svg - then right click on it save page - I chose webpage svg only to my desktop and it worked. I was able to bring it into mtc. It shouldn't matter if you are using the mac version of mtc as long as you are looking at this thru your browser on on your mac side. I have 3 different browsers on my mac - chrome, firefox and safari. They all work a little different and I always find that it is good to have a backup in case one get corrupted.
@leslie6111 Interesting. I figured out a way, which was none of these 'cause I couldn't get them to work...and seriously, thank you for trying to help me! Even tho I created as an svg, under the file tab in Safari I spied an "export as pdf", so I tried that, and it worked! It's going to need some tweaking in MTC, but at least I got it in!
