I saw a real nice wedding card in town store and it was a fortune to buy so here is where i need help on the front was a embellisment of a mans wedding dress shoe but not a side view one, it was from the front, in black and a shoelace effect threaded through the holes in the front of shoe and the ladies shoe was the same but in fancy paper and front view,i have no idea how to start i know i will need to weld shapes to get what i want but how and any tutorials i could follow.I did google for svg files and no luck and for clipart again no luck.
thanks in advance for taking the time to read my message.

Could you take a digital photo of it so we know what you're wanting?

If it is, here is a MTC file of the man's shoe. It isn't quite done, I think in order to get it to be 3D, tags will have to be added around the edge to fold under and glue, so that it pulls the bottom in and force the rest to curve out. I hope that makes sense. Here is a picture of the MTC (colors are to show the layers, not to indicate what paper to use). Of course, the laces will be non-paper. (ribbon maybe?)

Susannah - I'll work on the lady's shoe (probably sometime tomorrow). Can you give me an idea on how high off the page the shoes are? It looks like there is some 3D effect, but I can't tell how high they are. I imagine it is not too high since it is a card that presumably goes into an envelope.

    Thanks,

Bryan, about 2 notches on the inches ruler and definitely no more than quarter of an inch and thanks for you help i am hoping when i bring them into mtc and look at the shapes and layers it'll give me some idea how you made them, did you use just shapes to achieve what you wanted and then weld where necessary.
Need to learn this stuff so i do not have to depend on everyone else.

    Bryan,

She SHOULD be able to use different sized pop dots to raise the shoes if it's to hard to do in MTC. (is to hard to do even fitting to say to you, I"m not sure there is anything to hard for you).

HOw cool you found the card. I looked at this thread yesterday morning and had no idea where to even START without a picture (and now that I see it I'm still not sure I'd know where to start.lol).

Susannah - I actually used Inkscape to create the shapes, and then brought them into MTC and put them in layers. I could have used MTC and shapes (as Julie demonstrated in her webinar), but since I like Inkscape, that was a faster method for me to use. The pop dots that Christy suggested should work too (if I don't get to the tabs). A question on the ladies shoe, do you like it as it is on the card (sort of a straight edged triangle)? I think maybe a little curve to the sides might look better - thoughts? Also, is the heel of the ladies shoe something that was cut out or is that a ribbon? (i.e. do you want to cut that out on the cricut or not?)

Christy - I had a hard time visualizing it too, that is why I searched for a picture (I was lucky to find it). As soon as I saw the picture though, I figured it was the one Susannah was talking about.

I think the back of the woman's shoe is ribbon - I would think it would look better with a rounded toe and corners on the triangle front.

i like the idea you suggest of rounded toe and corners, the ribbon as you suggest it might be i cannot remember on seeing it in the card shop in town,i'll leave the judgement up to you,i had planned to cut it out on my cricut,i have bookmarded this subject so when i come back from holiday i can find it and start making the wedding card.

I don't know RachellAnn - That looks pretty good to me - Good job! I won't be able to get to any more designing until the weekend, so please feel free to post your file if you want (with or with out the man's shoe - it's up to you).

It looks like I made the lace holes a little too big - do you think they should be smaller?

    Susannah,

Have a great vacation! You may not realize this, but there is no way to find only your bookmarked threads...if you want to be able to find this after two weeks, I would suggest changing the title to: "Bride and Groom Shoes Card for catseyes" or something else that is specific to help you find it...

If you would like, I can edit it to that, and then you can find it much easier on a search when you get back. :D
