You guys have got to try this it is so easy and super cute! The only thing I would change is to make a hole on the top for the ribbon/twine. I punched one out after cutting for the twine.
I used the paper from Challenge One as texture on this project. The birdie is from there as well.

Sorry about the hole Nelda, I thought I added it. Thanks for letting everyone know. Turned out great!
Here is my birdhouse, I made it into a luminary, I used the lace paper from svgcuts and put vellum under so the light comes through the holes, I also used vellum for the front hole. I put another cutout in the back so I can get the battery candle in and out.

That certainly was not meant as a criticism, just a suggestion. And you will need to vary the size of the hole to whatever twine or ribbon you are using so it is best added by the end user. The file is great and cut perfectly, it is a cute project that I am going to use with my school kids. I think I am going to have them write a Christmas message inside so that when you peek in the hole you can see it. TSM!

I love this! Great idea!!
Did you make them to size? They would make sweet tree ornaments to fill in the big open spaces on the tree.
I cut it to the size that Michelle made them to, I did not need to change anything at all except add a texture.
I reduced the pattern by 75% to get a smaller (and still very cute) birdhouse. I am posting a picture of 2 because I got 2 on a piece of paper. These still assemble very easily, just a little smaller. I used the Snowmen on Skates Paper Pack from LD (now retired) for the texture. Printed on Epson Premium Presentation Paper (matte, 44#) at a setting of 14 with the red cap on the Silhouette.
After seeing all of your bird house ornaments and how cut they all are, I might have to try one of these. I love the color combinations that each of you has put together.
These are so cute and quick and easy. I love all the variation of fun papers!
Brigit, I love how you thought outside the box and did the luminary- brilliant! And quite beautiful.
I did mine actually a little bigger. I thought it would make a nice treat box. I blocked out the hole in one and the other I covered it acetate. I went one step further and glued the lid or roof on only one side and added a magnetic closure on the other. I plan to put a small little gift in this for Christmas. I can almost fit a regular ornament in here- it bulges. Should have decent enough room for something special. ;>
MickyZs i love the clock idea. Did you know you can buy working clock faces in the craft stores? That would be great as a real working clock.. that is provided the paper can hold up the weight of the click face electronics. maybe done in a thicker card stock or chip board? Everyone's doing such great jobs on their bird houses. I had planned on doing some crafting today but had to do some electrical work to get ready for my new dishwasher that will be here friday. YEah!!! sorry dishwasher trumps crafting lol
Yeah, another project completed. I also went with a Cardinal LOL (Pink) I may give this to my mom as one of her presents for her birthday, which is in 2 weeks. She loves to watch the birds and her hummingbirds. I need to go to AC's today and get another pack of pearls, I was short one. I used Sharon's Cardinal Christmas File, some dollar lace from Ac, The Ballet Paper Stack from Michael's, $1 pk pearls - AC, ink, Recollections Flowers, Stickles.
Everyone has such great ideas. I have to admit that I am not crazy about the bird houses but am now going to have to give it a try after seeing all of yours.
Here is my birdhouse. I thought it would be fun to peek inside and see Santa and a tree. I used digital paper from EchoPark and printed them double sided on my printer.
My birdhouse...I didn't remeber to make the holes for the hanger until I was half way done putting it together, gonna have to go back and put some.
@Elizabeth I did the same thing! A paper piercing tool comes in real handy....just saying, lol! I love the little fence, it is a great touch. How did you do the roof - it looks like it has individual shingles (or rows of shingles).

Nelda, I would think she just added a some scallop borders. I could be wrong! When applying them, you start at the bottom and work your way up. That's how I did it once on a project.
Elizabeth, love the roof and the fence. Nice job!
PaperGrandma, nice idea putting a scene on the inside. Love it!
@nelda MichelleMyBelle is exactly right. I just cut out a bunch of little scalloped borders and layered them from the bottom up. Took a little bit but I think it was worth it!
Here's my birdhouse. I loved Elizabeth's shingled roof so copied that idea. The snow I added to the base and roof by using Snow Writer from Michael's for depth and sprinkling white glitter on it for extra shine.
These are all incredible projects. I love how each one is so different from the next. I appreciate you all sharing your talents here. I learn so much from you all!!!

Here's mine.....yep that is a tealight hanging out the bottom.......:)
I wanted it to look like there are little presents in there for the birds, but it was harder than I anticipated to make small boxes.
I love the birdhouse file though! Thank you for sharing it!
