Cutter for accurate print & cut.

jazzyladyjazzylady Member Posts: 80

I have a 24inch silver bullet cutter.  Despite my best efforts and weeks of trying I am unable to get accurate print & cuts.  I have been using Scal 5 & MTC

I have given up.  My machine may have gone out of alignment after a recent move.  (Despite being well packaged in the original box & packaging.)

I need to purchase a reliable accurate cutter for print & cut.  Primarily cardstock.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

(I am dreading the day that I come to the forum & it says “page not found”.  This is the only social media that I use.

Thank you in advance.

Have you attempted to recalibrate it ?

I assume it has a laser point for reg mark calibration? if so check it has become unattached on some machine

If you wanting a very accurate print and cut cutter
checkout the Skycut range of cutters
it used a camera to detect reg marks
    The accuracy is amazing

I agree. The Skycuts are the most accurate of all that I've ever tested.  They don't cut from MTC, however, because they're newer cutters and MTC stopped adding new plugins like 5 years ago. But they do cut from SCAL.

My KNK Zing does a great job.

Thank you Crazy_Mr_Zing, SandyMcC, & DreamStreetRose

    For your replies.

(I have re-calibrated the Silver Bullet)

I had looked at skycut in the past.  I could not find any company information about Plotter Geeks.  Their website only has a form for you to contact them.  No information about where they are based, no phone number, nothing.

I am assuming that they are a US distributor for this company

For right now I will be considering a cheaper cutter.  My Silver bullet is working well apart from the print & cut issue.  I just need to print & cut cardstock.

    Thanks again for your input.

@jazzylady - Plottergeeks is partially owned/operated by Chad, the son of the owners of KNKUSA or Accugraphics, the makers of the Zing, Maxx, Force and other cutters. The owners have retired and their son decided to work with the owners of the SkyCut brand which is a cutter made by the same factory in China that made the KNK Force. Hope that little bit of info is helpful.
Still using MTC but slowly migrating to SCAL. KNK cutters including the Force and Maxx Air continue to be my favourites. Fluent in other cutter languages.

I sell Skycuts on commission with Plotter Geeks and was contracted by the Skycut company to write their user manuals. As with the KNK cutters, I provide full support to all owners around the world... whoever contacts me or posts on my Skycut Facebook group.  As with the individual KNK models, I also started a support page for Skycuts on my web site:
