Painting over Mod Podge

Hello,

I was writing to ask for some guidance with a question about painting over Mod Podge. I have a canvas painting made with acrylic based paints that I just finished. I used Mod Podge as a sealant on the painting but I need to now paint over it. I was wondering how long I should wait for the Mod Podge to dry before I can paint over it without the paint cracking? The instructions say wait for 20-30 minutes between Mod Podge coats, and it says 4 weeks for the complete curing time. Can I paint on top of the Mod Podge after a day or so or should I wait for the full 4 weeks?

Thanks for your help!
