My Zing Z1450 will not cut.

My machine allows me to go into the cutting box, but when I go to "Set Blade Origin" it fails to respond; neither by keyboard or arrow keys on screen.  
If this machine is broken I might as well die...

    You probably just need to reinstall the driver. Some of the Windows updates have been known to disable cutter drivers.  So, follow these steps:

    (1) Disconnect the USB cable from your Zing. Go to this link, scroll down to the table and on the far right side you'll see "setup executable"... click on that link, download, extract, and run it.

    (2) After running that file, reboot Windows and wait for Windows to fully come back up.

    (3) Then connect the USB cable to your Zing, turn on the cutter and wait like 15 seconds or so.

    (4) RIGHT click on Windows start button and select Device Manager.

    (5) Look for a Ports folder in Device Manager. Open it and, if your computer installed the driver and found the Zing, then it should say USB-Serial Port (Com X). 

    (6) Open MTC and give it a try.
