All of a sudden, after changing a blade, the power button would not come on. Checked all the cables; removed them and re-inserted them; everything connected. After repeated pushing of the power button, it suddenly came on. Now I am afraid to turn it off. Is this an indication of a coming failure?? Anything I should/can do to prevent it? I didn't see anything about this in the manual. Scared....I don't think I can live now without my cutting machine.
@Di-lite no it isn't sorted yet. The power button has been working mostly, some times it won't come on but if I try a couple of times it works. At the same time the horrible fan noise comes on intermittently. I think Sandy told me a while back everyone knows that the fan isn't necessary but I don't know how to disconnect it. Anyway....I did start a trouble ticket but haven't heard from them yet. I guess this is why folks who can't live without electronic cutting get two machines. I don't have the room though, even if I had the money.
Since I don't know your name, I need your ticket number so that I can have them check on it. Most likely you'll just need to get a new power button and change it out. I had to do that. But I'm not the one who troubleshoots these issues, so we'll need KNK to confirm it or ask the best questions. Sorry for the delay!
Well @Liz_A disconnecting the fan sounds easy enough. I certainly know how to open up the machine by now! If I disconnect the fan do I need to watch carefully to make sure the machine stays fairly cool? @SandyMcC I just heard from KNK on my trouble ticket this morning. They said I can't really fix it the power button myself; all I can do is look to see if it is compressed. You just ordered a new power button and replaced it yourself? You aren't scared of anything are you!
In all my use of the KNK Zing and KNK Maxx Air, neither of them have ever got the slightest bit warm, let alone hot, so you're good to go. The fan as kind of a little insurance policy.
Sorry, Charo! I read your last post too quickly and thought they had arranged for you to order a new one. I replaced mine after getting some basic instructions from Ron on how to do it.
Thanks so much @Gabe and @SandyMcC. Thanksgiving got in my way so I haven't been able to even look at cutting stuff lately. Right now I am going to order a replacement button from KNK and let them know you will help me. Thank you thank you!
