Problems with cut size

I'm having an issue with the actual cut size versus what is represented on my computer screen. It is cutting approximately half the size I need. I use Cameo 2 and with my Silhouette program, it cuts the right size. This has just started occurring and I'm assuming it's happening within my Make The Cut program. I uninstalled the program and reloaded it onto my computer, but that hasn't solved the problem. Does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be, such as the program settings that I may be overlooking? Thanks for any help!

I think you will find that the export facility in Silhouette is sending it out at a different size to what you see.  When in MTC it comes in at a reduced size.  I think you can change the export size in Silhouette.  You can also change the size in MTC by grabbing everything on the page and changing the parameters at the top with the lock on (these are usually top left - second two).  You should be able to see what the size is in MTC by checking out how it sits on the grid.  Liz or Sandy might be able to give better explanations - they are on a different time zone to me so they may not catch this till much later in the day.

@Ironlace73 - uninstalling and then reinstalling does not very often change a program's behaviour unless something else of a drastic nature has happened on the computer, ie a major operating system update. Where are you getting your SVG files from? Typically that is the issue, the person or artist that is creating the files is using a program that does not follow current SVG standards while MTC does so there will be a size difference in some cases.

You mention that the cut size doesn't match the size on screen.  Let's first figure out if it's related to the file or to MTC and the cutter.  Place a basic shape like a circle or a square on the virtual mat in MTC and make it exactly 4 x 4 inches or some size easy to measure. Cut it out and then report back the size it cut.

I've had this program quite s while and this problem has just started over a month ago. I do Google trace and create my own files. Why would this start now?

@Ironlace73 - do you mean you do a google search, find an image and then Pixel Trace it into Make The Cut!?

Okay... could you still do the test that I requested?  Just indicate what size the shape shows in the software versus what size it cuts?

On the screen it was set at 4×4. It cut 2×2...

I don't have a Cameo so I can only install the plugin and look at settings without being able to play with anything. But the fact that it's cutting half the size tells me that something got changed with the "calibrate dpi."

Here are two screenshots... one shows where to find it and then, when I clicked on the little wrench above it, I saw a reference to the fact that setting will change the size something cuts:
