SCAL or editing nodes in MTC?

So, this is my first post here and I did try to use the search to try to find the answer but all I got were threads from 2010/2011.

I've been using the silhouette for the past year or so but need a better cutter so I am planning on buying the Zing Orbit. It doesn't come with any software though so I'm trying to decide whether to buy MTC or SCAL. I;ve downloaded trial versions of both, I found SCAL a lot easier to use than MTC, but everyone always says how great MTC is so I feel like maybe it's just a learning curve.

I know this is a MTC forum so down to the specific question...

I need to be able to edit nodes and I can't seem to understand how to do this on MTC (in program or on google/here) whereas its really obvious in SCAL. Is it even possible? The old threads say no, but has there been an update?

Basically I'm leaning towards SCAL but I dont want to make a snap judgement and spend £40 on the wrong program.
So is there a way to edit nodes? Do you think MTC is just that much better but is more difficult to learn and maybe I just need to spend more time in it?

Thanks in advance,

Thank you both. I have had another fiddle with MTC and have found the Node editing bit so understand how it works better now.
But I didn't know that about the Zing Orbit not working with MTC so I guess that makes the decision for me!

You CAN do basic cutting to the Zing Orbit from MTC using the Zing Air plugin.  However, you won't be able to utilize the optic eye on the Zing Orbit for print and cut applications. And you won't be able to hook up your ZO using Wi-Fi... only USB.

This is why most new Zing Orbit users are choosing SCAL4. However, I know of some new ZO owners who already own MTC and do not need PNC capability or a Wi-Fi connection.

    Hope this helps!
