Fill Pattern Question [Resolved]

Is there a way to fill a font or a shape with a pattern (like from a JPEG or PNG file) in MTC?

For example, if I make a circle monogram with my font, can I fill the letters with the pattern from a digital paper I have? I hope that makes sense.

Use textures.  Select the shape, right click, select "Change Color/Texture/Line", then select "Select Texture..." (Ctrl+Shift+O).  Or for a whole layer, click on the color pallete icon, then select Texturize...

Next question....how do I get my pattern (jpeg) into MTC to where I can select it as an option for texturizing?  Thanks.

Click on chequered square top middles, import as a texture and blackout (bottom right of import screen) and click OK - it should be visible on your page - it comes in a little misty so to view it in it's true colour either click print preview under file left or change the view settings by clicking on the right box where it probably says green and chose contrast - not that changes how other things look so I would work in green or one of the other colours until I had completed the interactions suggested by Bryan.

If you just want to use the jpeg as a texture (fill)
    Right Click on the shape
    Select Texture
If you project does not currently any textures you will get the option to open your image file or paste the file from clipboard then you will get the window below
if you project already contain texture you will get this window
where you can select from the current textures or add a new one
using the choose for file option
there are other option to tile, rotate and scale  etc

    the result

Perfect! Thank you! Now...is there a way to get my other text to match a color from the part I just texturizing? Like if part is a design is pink, blue, and green, is there a way to pick out that blue and make another part of my design that color?

Like a Colour PIcker in other applications Right ?
MTC the Cut Doesn't have a color picker for main part but there are work arounds

if you right click on the shape you want to fill
    Select Colour/Texture/Line > Select Color

Here you can enter the R G B  numbers for for the required colour

    Click add to custom color
that color will them be selectable from the Custom Colors Palette

You can derive the RGB color from other applications or

There is a rather long way to derive those color number from with in MTC

This is the texture file I 'm using for example

Select pixel trace and open the image file you used for the texture fill

select the color option  (red ring)
click the color selector box (red arrow)

that will give you a colour picker eyedropper

hold the eye dropper over the desired color  and in the lower left corner the color details will be displayed

take note of the color code   eg   RGB 197,81,180

click on anything and cancel the pixel trace on the next window

Return to the shape you want to color fill  I going to fill the right shape

    Right on the shape

    Select Color/Texture/Line > Select Color

enter the color code  eg  RGB 197,81,180

    Click add to custom color
then select that color Custom Colors Palette
