Challenge: Cookie Box

This is a cute little gift to give to teachers, mail lady , newspaper boy, etc.



Supplies:



Make-The-Cut
(2) 12 x 12 Sheets of patterned Cardstock
Transparency
Adhesive
Bone Folder
Ruler or scorer
Cookie box MTC File


Instructions:



Cut both sides #1 and #2
Add piece of transparency to side #1
Score at marks indicated on Figure #1
Fold Box Sides in
Glue Flap 1 to Flap 3
Fold Flap 5
Glue Flap 2 to Flap 3
Fold second Flap 5
Glue Flap 5 to sides
Glue Flap 4 to complete the bottom
Fold and hook top.
Embellish as desired
Fill with cookies
Don’t eat the cookies.

Whoo Hoo!!! First Challenge done! LOL Thanks Dana for your box file! It was so simple and easy to cut out and put together especially with your score lines already in the file! Reused a piece of acetate from something to cover the hole. Used the cutout to make the tag with. Unfortunately, I didn't have any cookies at my house to put in the box yet! LOL Good thing, I probably would have eaten some of them! LOL :-D

So go ahead everybody - give this one a try - very simple to do and gives you a great treat box for the holidays! Thanks again Dana for sharing your file.

You could also scale it down and use it for fudge!

Dana - that is exactly what I was thinking. I used to make and give out fudge to my husband's office staff for the holidays. Haven't in a long time - last time I tried it would not set up correctly so I quit! LOL But when I did your box I thought oh, that would be great for the fudge!! LOL Now, have to decide if I'm willing to try the fudge again and to put together that many boxes! LOL His staff has grown a lot since I last made it!

lol... I make Christmas Glass Candy and it wouldn't look as pretty in these boxes as the mason jars, but it sure would be cheaper!

Lillie you can still get registered up until the last day of the crop i believe ...start crafting they will get you registered ..I think they all are really busy right now ..but Id say go on and start a challange

My first challenge!

Decided to try this one a second time with a smaller box.
I should know better, but don't just stretch one direction! I had to do some fine tuning with this one after it cut. The flap to lock it is still a little off, but it's not too bad.

I'm trying to figure out how to make this a decent size with just my small cricut :) I made one, and it's super cute, just small. Maybe I could get enough fudge in one to make it work as a single-serve type gift?? :)

Here's my gift box. I made about a dozen similar to these for my grandsons birthday party. They were made to look like tool boxes and the kids just loved them. This one sure will be handy to have on hand for last minute gift wrapping. I'm having fun with this cybercrop but may not get anything else done, work really gets in the way........

Where can I order the transparency film (or whatever it's called)?
What is a bone folder? Where do I get one? How is it used?

Katrina, I just used vellum for the cutout, if you have any of that. If you want transparencies, you can got to Staples or Office Max. I assume these are the transparencies that teachers used to use for overhead projectors.

Katrina, I cut up a page protector for scrapbooking pages. I looked all around my scrap room and could not find my transparency stuff!

A bone folder is a tool used for making scoring lines. I Just used a ruler to make sure my fold lines were straight, but I used a lightweight cardstock. I really only worry about scoring when I use heavier cardstock because it helps stop it from peeling when you fold it.

Any plastic you have works. It can be from some packaging you opened. I would think even a cut ziplock bag would work in a pinch.

I have to down size the cookie box to for the 12X6 mat, I wonder how many cutout sugar cookies would fit in there? I have to start baking cookies to find out, LOL

Carrie, I helped you out, lol. Can't be giving only 2 and a half cookies!
I don't think Dana will mind. I took her original file and separated the end panels into their own piece. By doing that, I was able to resize the box to 80% of the original size, but make it fit on a 6" wide mat.
The attached file is Dana's original file with a second page added for the smaller mat.
