When I cut fonts especially the centers get shifted over and cut through the lines of the letters (example “e” and “l”). I have a Cricut Expression 1 and Make the cut 4.1.0. Everything looks good on the screen.
@sheilabelle - try cutting with less pressure (force), and make sure the blade tip is barely showing, it looks like too much blade and too much pressure. Make sure the mat is very sticky.
Is the orientation of the photo you added the way the material was in the machine ?
or is it 90 degree rotated
I've never use a Cricut but it would seem the mat is shifting during the cut As Liz suggest a probable cause is having to much blade protruding from the end of the blade holder . This cause the blade to attempt to cut the mat which can cuase the mat to slip one method of disproving this issue is blade related is using a pen tool to draw the project as this put very little sideways stress on the mat another could the mater is catching on something eg and object behind the machine
@Crazy_Mr_Zing - I think that if the OP is using a Cricut 12x12 mat, in a Cricut cutter, there isn't a lot of room for the mat to shift, as the edges of the mat butt up against guides on both sides. I think its just a matter of too much blade.
@sheilabelle - keep the blade tip showing as is, but do two passes instead of just the single pass. I do this with glitter paper all the time.
I go by this very scientific measuring tool: you should barely FEEL the blade tip, let alone SEE it without reading glasses . Unless the material is really thick - your's look the thinner glitter paper sold at Michaels.
@Crazy_Mr_Zing - yes it could be that, I think would be because the pinch wheels are gummed up with debris and glue from the mat. @sheilabelle - check the status of the rubber on the pinch wheels, are those needing cleaning?

Based on the photo of FB
virtual mat is landscape
Therefore to me it appears this is a up down slip rather than a left right slip/skew
