How can I make a file wider

Working on a free truck file. I want it to be wider but keep the length. Tried various ways but it won't line up when put together.
Appreciate any help. Thank you

First i would move all the part that are not required to be altered out of the way
actually I think I would move the to new layer and hide that layer for now

So this leaves the main part of the truck body and the grill/headlamp trim

1, centre these to parts on a vertical line on the grid
(try to position the centre of gap in the split window to the grid line)

Now there's a issue with this file that the dashed fold lines are separate short line rather than one path with a dashed line style
This will make this a little more difficult so I would fix that
I will send you the file

Not essential just make it easier to explain the process and less messy

1, Perform a break and move the following to separate layers
    (1)all the dash fold lines
    (2)the body of the truck
    (3)the split window

2, Use the knife tool to slice the truck in half follow the grid line

3, select the right side of the truck including that side split window

4, Hold ctrl and press the right arrow key to nudge the select 4 times
(you can choose more or less as long as it an even number )

5, Now it a matter of reconnecting the broken lines
Pencil tool hold ctrl to snap to nodes

Now to widen the plane on the split window

6, slice each pane vertically with the knife tool

7, Select the right side of the left pane and nudge it right x2 (or half the amount you nudged the body)

8, Select the left side of the right pane and nudge it left x2 (or half the amount you nudged the body)

9, Join up the broken lines

    and its complete

Any step you don't understand just ask
