Software Code

Hi, I recently bought an unused Zing Air, it came with a registration card for what I am presuming is MTC. However I have downloaded the software but the code is not recognised when I try to register it. I have tried it with and without the dashes but nothing seems to work. Any help would be much appreciated. Does anyone know if the Zing Air is compatible with Flexisign or Signlab?

Cheers,
Stu.

Sounds like what you have there is a pin code
if that pin code has not been used before you can use it to obtain a registration code by visiting this page

    https://www.make-the-cut.com/register.aspx

The registration code is what you use to register Make the Cut

@stoobydale - as explained by Crazy_Mr_Zing, there are two codes:

PIN code - this is a one time use only. Once it has been used to obtain a registration key it cannot be used again.

Registration key - a unique key that is entered in the Make The Cut! software to enable the program for full use mode. This is not transferable. It starts with the letters MTC.

Signlab 10 has the Zing Air listed as a compatible cutter. If it appears your MTC pin has already been registered once and you are not interested in buying either MTC or Sure Cuts A Lot 4, then I can test Signlab 10 for you. I recently upgraded to that version but I've not had the time to test it.

Thanks for the reply's, I now have a registration key. SandyMcC, it would be great if you could try that please. I looked through my old software and I have a copy of Signlab 5, the problem for me is all my old software used to run on XP and I don't think it's compatible with Win7. I used to find FlexiSign the easiest to use back in the day.

Signlab 5 wouldn't have the Zing Air plugin. It wasn't added until version 9, as I recall and then I'm not sure it was completed before Signlab 10. If you are still open to the idea of updating to Signlab 10, then I will be happy to test for you.  I'm thinking the cost of upgrading could be between $200 and $500 compared to using MTC or SCAL for only $60.  But, of course, it's your decision.   Just post back and let me know for sure that upgrading to version 10 at that price would be an option you'd consider, and then I'll gladly do the testing.

@SandyMcC - oh my that is an exorbitant price for software! Holy moly! I looked on their website for Signlab 10 and the list of supported cutters, but not one KNK cutter is listed there. Where can people see that information? Thanks Sandy!

@Liz_A The only place I know is within the software. I did screenshots of the complete list. When you click one, then it shows all of the compatible models for that brand on the right.

Ugh... I can see it's a little hard to read based on combining so many screenshots. If you or anyone wants the 9 images individually for better viewsing, I can export them, if needed.

No worries, can zoom it to see just fine, thanks @SandyMcC for sharing that. Anyone just looking on the website however, doesn't see such an extensive list. It looks like this:

Thanks again for the replies. At the moment I don't think I could justify the expense of upgrading Signlab. I only needed a couple of stickers but when I dragged out the old Roland cutter it let me down, hence the acquisition of the Zing. I made a few cuts yesterday and it worked a treat with sign vinyl. I used to do quite a bit of airbrush work on motorbikes and helmets which I would like to do again so I will probably update once I get sorted. The Zing should be fine for stencil vinyl and Mylar. I imported a few vector files into MTC yesterday that cut fine so I may not have to spend any money upgrading at all, hopefully.

    maybe have already tried this
can you export svg files from Signlab 5 and import then to MTC
if so you might need to confirm the sizing remains the same as it was in sign lab
