Hi,
I'm trying to cut a simple banner with My KnK Zing and its freezing mid cut on multiple pages. The bounding boxes look normal and I've tried flatten paths, auto simplify paths with no success! please help!

@skender1 - so how many nodes does the file have? With everything selected, do a CTRL+SHIFT+X - that is on a PC, are you using MTC on a Mac?

@skender1 - also, do all your shapes have a fill colour?

Also, if you can share your file for someone to look at that can help.  Please do not share a file you have purchased however.

Have you tried other files or is it just this one that doesn't work?

Are you using windows or Mac
Does it get stuck on flushing buffers or does it show as complete ?
is the carriage right over to the left or right and touch red buttons (limit switches) or somewhere in the middle

Thanks for the replies so far! I'll try and answer as best I can in order:

-I'm using a PC and the Zing freezes on different shapes on different pages of the same file but the shapes range anywhere from 33 nodes to 500 nodes.
    - the shapes have fill colour except where appropriate (simple banner shape with one letter in the middle so the letter to be cut out has no fill colour).
-I can't upload the file here...I try and it keeps saying "file failed to upload". Is there some other way to upload or somewhere else I can send it?
-it shows the cut is complete on the screen...the carriage is all the way over to the left and the blade is still in the paper. I had to turn the Zing off and on again to get it to reset.

@skender1 - that sounds like the blade assembly has hit the stop button located on the left side under the hood of the Zing. This means possibly one of these:

    - there is a shape outside of the cuttable area of the cutter
    - your total width of the cut is greater than 14" and you are using WYSIWYG...this will cause the stop button to be hit. To cut up a 14" width you need to use Knife Point, and you do not change the position of the blade at all.

I completely agree with @Liz_A.  Many users make this mistake because the Virtual Mat in MTC was originally designed for Cricut owners.  With other brands, such as KNK, the origin is in a different location and shapes should be positioned on the Virtual Mat so that they cut closer to that origin and you avoid sending the cutter outside of its available cutting range.

In Portrait mode, move your shapes to the lower right corner of the Virtual Mat. In Landscape mode, move your shapes to the upper right corner of the Virtual Mat.

I have to say...thank you sooooo much for all your help!
While I have read the manual in its entirety many a time I have no idea how I missed the part where it says the blade will stop mid cut if the holder touches the red limit switch! The problem is, it was time for me to freshen up my KNK mat as it wasn't sticking anymore but I really wanted to cut this banner so I found one of my old Cricut mats and thought it would be ok. However the banner shape spans the entire 12" pretty close to the edge and the cricut mat doesn't have a big enough border to accommodate the blade holder and it kept hitting the red stop. I feel so silly.  When you mentioned the word Cricut and red stop button it all made sense! I am very grateful to you all for taking the time out of your day to help me, you don't know how worried I was...I thought I fried my Zing but more importantly I thought my little guy wouldn't get his birthday banner in time. You have saved the day! Many many thanks :)

Same here! SO happy to read that cutting outside the range was the problem.
