Hi all, I am new to the forum and am really hoping someone can help me out here.

I have designed something and have filled the images with colour and outlines in order to print it.  However, when I print it the colour is printed but not the outlines.. What am I doing wrong here?

I look forward to hearing from someone asap :)  Thank you xx

Welcome to the support forum for the software program Make the Cut! (MTC) which works a variety of cutters.  First, let's clarify - from the title of your post, it sounds like you are using the Silhouette Cameo and the Silhouette's program rather than MTC is that correct?

Usually shape outlines are not printed in print and cut operation as they represent the cut paths . Therefore by default they are set not to print

If your using Sil Studio you will need to select the lines you wish to print and enable print line of selected shape . which is at the very bottom of the line style menu

In MTC enable Print Shape Outline in File > Print options
In this case remember you done this as next time you might no want to print line

If you don't want the fills to print set to white or no fill

One issue with printing oultines for print and cut is as these line are quite thin any slight misalignment can sometime be quite obvious
an alternative is creating a bleed using shadow

In Silhouette Studio, you need to go to the Line Style Window and check the option Print Lines of Selected Shapes, obviously selecting the shapes first.

Hi vickimarie73.You can read this article. I think it can help:

@davidhai - your article has nothing in it that relates (even remotely) to the problem, which is software related and not hardware related at all. If you are going to comment, it would be nice if the comments were relevant to the question asked, and not your attempt to get people to your website to ultimately purchase something.

Wow! I'm seriously thinking of getting out of this forum. I thought this was a friendly place where I could get some help, help someone, discuss about a common subject, learn new things, make friends with people from other countries, I mean, a cool place I had pleasure in return. The hostility change everything but not for the better. We need to put our guns down and restart talking. Sad!

@tuicarlos - it is a friendly place, however if you enjoy being spammed there are lot of other venues for that.

We have a LOT of KNK who follow this forum. It's not helpful if they get incorrect advice... especially if it leads them to buy a new blade holder thinking that will solve a cutting issue with vinyl.  If we seemed unfriendly, it was only out of concern about that.

@SandyMcC - I don't disagree with you about the responsibility that everyone has here to guide correctly other members of this forum, at least try to do so, because nobody here will be 100% correct on anything. Am I right? But what bothers me about it, and I think other people are feeling the same right now, is that something needs to be fixed but not with arrogance and hostility. We can solve this with respect, without humiliating anyone. If it takes a more forceful action, I think that a contact in privacy would solve this without having to expose a person this way nor put in doubt her dignity.

Well, maybe I'm suggesting too much because my academic graduation is in Education and the human being skills have always been my target and communication is one of them.

Written words are cold because expresses not faithfully the gleam in the eye, a tear or a smile, so we need to be cautious in choosing them, always.

I agree with you. And I certainly never intended to be hostile or arrogant.  My intent was to point out, in detail, the misinformation I found in that original blog post.  Now I must apologize to @vickimarie73 for taking her thread further off-topic!  Sorry about that, Vicki!
