Help!!!! New owner.... Zing Air going insane

Hi, I received a Zing Air from my partner for xmas and I started playing with it today USING THE MANUAL & a demo of Make the Cut (as for some reason my activation code didn't get sent out with the extra blades he also bought me & the UK distributor is away until Jan 2nd, so can't get an answer from them as to where it is).
When I switch it on it goes insane doing the same thing over and over again and making noises like R2D2 had a tiny baby....it will not stop! If I turn off the power it just starts up again when I switch it back on.
I've checked for any hidden packing material, there is none
I've checked I've downloaded the right software for my model
I've tried unplugging the USB
I've tried restarting the computer
I've tried letting it run itself out but I can't handle it anymore (I keep thinking I need to go attack the death star)
I've tried searching the forum for the answer and have seen others have had the problem (they posted a video and it's exactly what mine is doing) it says it got resolved but there's no description as to what they actually did, they just start talking about blade depth after a while.
Please can someone help me, I'm in the UK and can't afford to call the US. This was a big present for my fiance to buy me & it's breaking my heart how disappointed he is :(

Ok so to confirm its doing this what appear to be a random repetitive cutting pattern soon at you turn it on - Not after you sent a cutting task to it

First think to check is on the inside end each end there a red button (limit switch)
Check either of this switch is not stuck in
From memory powering on with the left side limit switch activated puts the zing into a factory text mode where it would continuously run though a operating pattern of movements

This is the best image I could find quickly a place a arrow point out the red button
I know there been a few cases of it being stuck in and with a gentle jiggle it popped out and all was well
It is normal for the zing to make some strange noises as it works

I know this must be disappointing rest assured KNK customer service is excellent they will get this sorted when they re-open for business

Hi Truffle75, welcome to the Forum I'm pinging Sandy @SandyMcC  so that she can come to your rescue.  She's the wizard of KNK and can help if Crazy Mr Zing's solution does work.  Just shout for help here and many who have the Zing Air will come rushing to your rescue.  Unfortunately we are all over the world as well as the UK so responses might be a bit slow - Crazy is in Australia, Sandy in the US and Liz in Canada - just to name drop a few.  Also Gabe will help when he is on duty.  Hang in there between everyone we will make the present your fiance gave you a great success.
    Have fun, Di, ID 14610

    Thanks guys
I managed to get it to draw something by hitting start cut before it went mental, but I'm panicking about what to do when it starts again. X

Did you remove the little black inserts on the left and right sides?  Also, there is no printed manuals any longer. The latest UM for the KNK Zing Air is located here... note there are manuals for both software programs, so scroll down for the link to the MTC one:

If it starts doing it again, immediately turn it off and then, if you could, find the video where you saw a Zing doing the same thing. I'll then contact someone at KNK USA to find out the cause.  It might take until Monday, however, for me to reach someone because of it being a holiday weekend.

But rest assured... you will have a Zing Air that works correctly!  We want our customers to be happy.  :)
