Hi everyone, is there a way to get those nice beveled edges on electronic die cut pieces? I mean like if you use your zing or any other electronic cutter, you don't get the sort of curved edges like you get from an actual die such is with the sizzix or cuttlebug cuts. i was thinking about it and thought maybe using the pen holder to to a sketch 1st of the shape to be cut and then do the actual cut but my xyron doesn't have much force to emboss....has anyone ever tried anything similar with success?
check out Penny Duncan on her blog, she has a way to do it that is a little involved but works. http://pennyduncancreations.blogspot.com/ you will have to search for it when you get there.
you could use a wide end embossing tool in the pen holder, and then "cut" again to emboss the edges of the cut

@dhchick - no you are correct, our cutters don't do that. The blade tip lies in perfectly perpendicular line to the paper (that means 90 degree to), and is supposed to be sharp so that it cuts cleanly...it could never make those curved edges that you see with embossing folders. Using a fat tool like the ones found here:
will give you an embossed line, but it will be U shaped. You would need to design your file so that the embossing tool follows the line, and then the cutting line would need to be a slightly smaller path so that it cuts just into the curve - this potentially can leave you with very sharp exposed edges, paper cut zone!! Myself personally, I would want the embossing to go the other way...curved like the shape of an upside U.
