Is there a trick to it? I am trying to cut this out in a textured cardstock and it looks crappy Looks like I sawed it out with a rusty knife. I have reset my settings 2 speed 4 pressure 5 blade + 2 speed 5 pressure 6 blade. both the same awful look. Is it maybe the design? I have turned the white sash, bow, cuffs, & Collar to black so it is a basic silhouette...... should I try different paper?

Okay, here's my advice. Take what you want from it -

    1. Try using an untextured paper. Textured papers are the enemy when doing a delicate cut like this. I like to use something nice and crisp - and a solid color all the way through if possible. K&Co type papers seems to work well for me as do the glossier prints from DCWV and their shimmer cardstock that's smooth.

    2. Try raising your blade to a 4, keeping the speed at 2 or 3 and the pressure at 4 or 5 and do a multicut of 2. Sometimes we've got the blade too low so the sharp part isn't hitting the paper - the unsharp part ABOVE it is.

    3. If you really want the white areas, use the layer function to separate them up from the bottom. Arrange the layers so that those details are on the BOTTOM layer and will be the first to cut. The paper, being a solid, is most stable at that point. If you try to cut details out of the outline shape later, it just leads to frustration.

    4. And always make sure your blade housing is clean and the blade is clear of any obstructions.

I believe so, I was going to share the cut file I just wanted to make sure it cut ok first. My Hubby brought me home 10 dvds with click art on them I believe they are royalty free they are advertised as free on the site. I just tried cutting it with regular cardstock and it cut beautifully so I will share the cut file in the gallery under mother & daughter in Family category.

This is what I got using MTC and changing cardstock. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d183/katiedoodlesgran/cards/IMG_8257-1.jpg
I think the textured cardstock is more spongy the plain is crisper so it cuts nicer. JMHO
