My computer recently crashed and got a new one, but was able to copy my MTC files. However, it brings me back to the original version I purchased years ago. When I try to download the new version from the website I'm getting a NSIS error....Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installer's author to obtain a new copy. Can anyone help with this?

The NSIS errors may occur under one of the following conditions:
1. Software files downloaded from the Internet are not complete.
2. Downloaded software files have been modified from the original version.
3. Your PC is infected with a virus.
4. Physical media being used to install the program is damaged.
5. Required hardware (For example, CD/DVD drive) is malfunctioning.
Now, typical of Microsoft, while that may be correct, it's completely useless.
Try downloading the program again.

Save it to your computer first, then run it. If you still have problems, you may have to turn off your anti-virus when downloading and installing it.
I just downloaded from the above link and it downloaded and installed correctly.
1. Since the restore is bringing back a very old version, it is possible that the backup files used have written values to the registry that aren't compatible with the new version. I would uninstall the software and then use a registry cleaner, such as CCleaner or SlimCleaner to remove all the registry entries related to MTC. Then install directly from the downloaded files, rather than trying to overwrite an older version from years ago. Also, if you are someone who needs the PCC plugin file, be sure to save that someplace before cleaning off the old version of MTC. You can restore the plugins folder and that plugin after installing the newest version of the software.
2. Same issue as number one, same thing to try.
3. Virus could also be possible. Never hurts to do a thorough scan. And also a malware scan with Malwarebytes is a good thing to try.
4 & 5 are probably doubtful, but of course, Microsoft can't know that would be the case for this instance, so they include that just to cover all the bases.

Is this where you got CCleaner?

The free version is all I have ever used. Looks like you paid for the home version with support - not sure if that version of the software functions better or not - just that I never needed anything more than the free one.
