I am experimenting with the program and I can't find a way to get the gallery images onto the mat. I can view them on a virtual mat but I cant get any further. I am very new to this and just trying to find out what it can do.
it doesnt matter what image i click on it never comes up. i have purchased the program and am able to use my own SVG files or other i have got of the internet
Hello Berryone-I still have the same problem as thestinkbug. I still am trying to get a download from the Gallery. Specifically the Willow tree girl. It doesn't matter what I try to download, though. I get to the part to click on download, and no download window. Still can't figure out why. Anyone else have this going on other than thestinkbug and I?
@aubrey - I just did a search on "willow" and there were three that came up in the search window. I clicked on all three, and was able to get all three. Two of them ask you to name a file first and then automatically opens the files, the other one is placed directly on the virtual mat. I forget which is which, but that just means that two are in .svg or .mtc format and the other one is either .svg or .mtc. If they were the same files you were looking at, I had no problem retrieving the files.

I am having the same problem. When I click on download nothing happens, I was always able to do this before I updated to the latest version. Wondering if it is a bug somewhere? Andy?????????? :-h
There are no bugs on the gallery code as far as I know. There are a couple of possibilities. For the people having problems, make sure you have Internet Explorer (IE) 7.0 or later and make sure the MTC!.exe is not blocked by a firewall. There has also been some problems with the company that hosts the servers used - so that may be causing intermittent problems.
To clarify what HappyCrafter was explaining, the images in the gallery that have a mat design behind them are MTC files, and when you click on "Download" it will ask you to save the file first. The images that have a light gray and white checkered background are SVG files, and when you click on "Download" they will be loaded on your mat directly, located where your caret is currently sitting.
@Berryone, I have IE 8 and MTC version 4.1.0. When I click on download nothing happens. It works sometimes with the older files, not sure maybe it is a server problem as Bryan suggested.
1.4.0 is my v. that i have on my windows laptop. I have tried making MTC an exception for my firewalls and turning them off completely. Still when i click on any image being SVG or MTC files through the library the download box does not come up... I would really like to start using this for its full potential but have been limited to what i can find off the internet. PLEASE HELP

Since you are using a really old version of MTC, 1.4.0 you may not be able to download a lot of the files if they were created with a newer version of MTC then the one that you have (which I venture to say a lot of them were).

Unfortunately, I don't have any more insight than what I suggested already (IE version and unblocking MTC!.exe in the firewall - make sure you don't have more than one firewall running). @thestingbug1985 - do you get an error when you click on the download link? Can you take a screen shot of what comes up on your screen right before you would click on download? Also, Berryone, who has over 2000 shapes on the gallery, has been sharing his files here on the forum - look for recent threads that start with "Files", e.g. the thread "Files 4 (05.16.2012) (May 16th 2012)" has 26 mtc files available.

If you bought this just a few months ago, is your version actually 4.1.0? You told us it was 1.4.0 which is an extremely old version from about the birth of MTC around two years ago... It can be easy to get mixed up with the version numbers accidentally (I can never get amounts or time numbers correct--they get all jumbled in my brain).
When you open MTC, click on the 'Help' tab, scroll down to the bottom option: "About Make-the-Cut!" and click on that, you should see the version number and your registered email address in a pop-up window. If you could double-check on that MTC version number, that would help us know what advice to help you with... Also, if your name and email aren't showing up on that information Window, there is a problem with your registration, which could also lead to problems downloading from the Gallery (as does not having Internet Explorer updated on your computer to a MINIMUM of IE7--no matter what browser you happen to use, the Gallery won't work properly if your IE is not updated).
