Quick questions...when I import the svg into mtc, the size is really tiny. I tried at "Actual" 72, 90 and finally I went all the way to 2....what number should I use to import to make the item actual size?....Thanks in advance for your help.
It did the same for me. Since it was all grouped I just did a resize before I broke it apart. It shouldn't be a major issue. Someone with more info on importing might be able to give a quick fix. I can't wait to work on this!

For myscrapchick files you use a 1. If you are having problems with other files as well try 300 if the other numbers don't work.

Very interesting reading about MyScrapChicks. Always fun to know how and why. Love their files. I wish they were stacked in layers but very nice files anyway. I hope to participate in this challenge. Thank you for the challenge donations.

JaneDough99, I have a lot of their files too.

I am a little confused by the bug cards. Are they cards that actually open up already or do we have to make them into a card? When I look at the parts included I don't see a "card" type file. It looks like we have to create a card base in the size we want to me.

@KarenP I just checked the site and it says "created to fit square cards". I was wondering the same thing - so yes, we have to make it into a card (or something)

KarenP - I took the files into Inkscape and found they are colored, so I just created a layer for each color and then brought it into MTC. They then came in colored and then I just did "to each his own". Also, you'll see that the images are straight on the edges for cards. I love our node editing feature in MTC. I rounded the right side edges of the butterfly. Worked so well.

Here is my card. I used the dragonfly file, but decided I wanted to go more to artsy than cutsie (but I love cutsie, too). I chose to not use a face. You can't tell in the photo too well, but the feelers are actually raised up a bit in the air, as are the top layers of the body pieces.

I have a pad of 2 sided papers, and they all coordinate together. The pad also has a bunch of stickers and prepunched shapes in it. I used 2 different papers and the Celebrate sticker. I think it was probably the first pad of scrapbooking paper I ever bought.

I saved a piece of the pink for the inside when I am ready to write something.

Here is my card challenge. Just finished it a couple minutes ago. You can get more photos and info on my blog. Just want to say thank you to myscrapchick for the use of the files for our challenge. I also used this weeks Friday Freebie Love PopUp Card from myscrapchick. It's a little busy but I need to get more Valentines paper. This is all I had left.

Here is my card. I did the butterfly because I knew it would go perfect with a Bible verse I wanted to send to my dd in college and a niece who will be going to med school next fall. I did mine as a shape card. I was also experimenting with some pearl dust I picked up.

Reba, I love how you can take a file like this an give it a whole new look!

Michelle, fantastic as usual! I love how the dimension in the pop card is chucky and bold. The ribbon on the butterfly card looks really awesome too. I also like the bold colors.

I am taking notes as I watch all of you create. I think I am more in my element when it come to making jewelry but for some reason I just can't get enough of my cutter and paper, vinyl and the rest we use our machine for. I am learning from all of you!!

I was a little nervous cutting out those super thin antenna, but my zing cut clean with no rips. They were really delicate!

To import mysrapchick files, you set your actual size to 1, treasurebox designs, littlescrapsofheaven designs is 72, . Not sure if someone mentioned this or not. I have been a follower of these groups since I started scrapbooking...I own all of the myscrapchick files, and about 90% of treasurebox. There are so many great groups out there, and these guys are great and very quick to help.

Anyway, I don't know if you all are tired of Christmas stuff yet or not, but here's my double page layout. Thanks for all the welcome wishes!

OK, I have my file, I just have to get the project made! I went with the paperclip book mark idea. I made the upper piece of the clip an oval (to attach the bug to) and I did have to round out the left of the bug, where they had it cut off. I also made extra bugs cuz I thought they were cute.

I love to see what people do with files. Helps give me ideas. We have a topic called Masterpieces where some share. Share away. We love being enabled and want everyone to use MTC. I have cut the butterfly and the bee but haven't done the cards yet. I am a file-aholic whether I buy or get them free. I don't want any 9 step program either...lol. If it weren't for my hobbies I might need that original one. Darlene

Here's what I did. I rounded out the right side of the butterfly's wing. Then I printed the outline of the butterfly. I cut the body and glued it on and then popped the face and the middle part with glue dots and cut the cheeks and the highlights on the wings in glitter. The inside of the card says "and warm gentle hugs".

For those of you who made cards, you may need an envelope. I have a file for you to use if you do.

The score lines can be deleted if you do not want them. Also the middle layer - you can change the color (red) to coordinate with your card colors, and also print your addresses on the white inner white part.

    Carmen,
It doesn't have to be a "card." I think I stated card because the files they offered were card files. I personally love to see people think outside the box and add their own twist to something. Challenges are supposed to be completed within the time frame of the challenge which is Jan. 6 - 14, so it's open through Saturday night. We're trying to give plenty of time so lots of people can join in since there is a really nice prize involved. You can feature any of their files you already have it doesn't have to be the freebie in the link.
