KNK Zing Now In Stock! New Zing Tools Available!

Hey All...

Here is an update on everything...

We will be shipping the Zing by the end of the week (hopefully tomorrow). Everyone who has a pending order is first in line.

We have enabled all Zing products -- nothing is on backorder or out of stock anymore!

We have added 4 new tools: Punch, Engraving, Embossing and Pen tools.

For the first time ever, we have Zings to spare in our inventory, but not many. You can order now and get shipped to by the end of the week.

The Zing fine-detail blades are in route to the facility and should be available by next week.

Here is a link to our shopping site: http://store.make-the-cut.com/

Thanks all...
-andy.

  • Can we pre-order the fine detail blade?
  • oh good question. I'd like to get a bunch of accessories but hate to have to place two orders. But I'm afraid if I wait until the blades come in to order the other accessories will be out of stock again.

  • I have a few questions. Is it best to ask here, or should I email someone?

Is the pen tool different than what comes with the zing? Do I need to buy this to use normal pens or sharpies like I've seen people talk about?

I ordered the zing last week, and then today ordered a few accessories. Is there a way that I can combine those orders so I can save on shipping? :)

    Thanks!
  • Hi Andy -
    Thanks for update.

Will we be receiving an email that the Zing has shipped? I am patiently awaiting!
Hope it isn't going to be too much of a learning curve.

Will the different holders , ie, embossing tools have the capability of changing tips/size stylus?
  • Since I live in Milwaukee, can I come and buy some supplies. I already ordered the zing and paid for postage.

I think my family would like to give me these things as Christmas presents. Just want to know before I give them the link.

Or any of the tools for that matter. Though I think if I saw what they could do it would only make me want to buy them. ;)

I see there are no embossing mats in the store, do you plan on carrying them or should we look at bosskut embossing mats or other suppliers..OR..is there anyway to make an embossing mat from rubber gasket or even craft foam sheet?

Are the springs the same as the ones used by the Graphtec blades?

Can anyone tell me if this Zing can first of all be shipped to Canada and is it food safe...I like to use my "other" machine for fondant etc.
What are the options for Canadians with this machine?

You can purchase through a Canadian dealer and all your customs, taxes are included, and it will be shipped from within Canada - so it it will arrive much sooner (7 days shipping time otherwise). A Canadian warehouse location is just being prepped now and will be available very, very shortly. You can email me (I am Canadian) and I will contact you when the details become available - email in my profile.

The Zing has small roller guides that can be positioned out of the way, if you were thinking of using it for food. Otherwise, its not specifically designed for food. You can contact Chad at KNK for more information. A different mat would be required, and different blades and possibly different blade holders may be required.

I myself personally wouldn't use it for food items...there are other options available for a much lower price point.

I think that is going to be very confusing for the original blade and the fine detail blade to both have red caps.

Well, firstly, they aren't calling it the "fine detail blade." It's called the "standard blade." It is what now ships standard with new Zings. Secondly, the old 45 degree blade has been discontinued now, if I'm understanding how this works. So there isn't really any confusion. If you have the old red cap blades, you can just toss them when you order new red cap blades. You will always get the new smaller angle blades when you order red caps now.

sorry I think this was in the wrong place...I'll try to move it.

I have what I think is a dumb question...but I have been trying to read everywhere and still don't know the answer. I LOVE LOVE LOVE MTC...so I would like to get a new cutter...upgrade from the "Other" one.
Does anyone know if you can use the blades and/or the mats from the "Other" (pc) machine in either the Zing or the Lynx?

Right now it's a toss up between the Lynx and the Zing.
    Any advice?

    Thanks

Yes you can use the blades and bladeholders from other machines. The Zing bladeholder that comes with the Zing does require Zing blades. I like my Zing bladeholder now that I'm more used to it. I have used Amy Chomas short pen and sharpie holders with much success. Absolutely love using the OPF fonts and want to know where to find more. Darlene

I just ordered blades. Why is the shipping so much on 2 blades? I realize some of it is handling...but can't they be mailed in a small padded envelope? Not complaining..just wondering. Darlene

Thanks, Ann! Regular mail would save us some $$ on the shipping of these blades and blade holders.

@daffeydil - I want to get some of the new red capped blades too but the shipping is the reason I'm so hesitant, I hope Ann can find out more info on shipping too.

Maybe you are buying extras, but wanted to be sure you know KNK is replacing your orginal red capped blade when you return yours to them. You can put it in a small envelope with a stamp between cardboard taped to the center.

@KarenP - I just found out about the replacements but I'm getting ok cuts with the ones I have, debating whether or not I want to return them to get the new one or just buy the extra blades.
  • I ordered my red blade holder last Tuesday with a couple of the new blades (gift card burning a hole in my pocket!) I figured that it would be next week and that was OK for me. To my shock Fed Ex delivered them today! Of course, I had to stop cleaning house and play! I used the offset of 35 the new blade was amazing! I'll probably try to cut something intricate tomorrow. Just had to brag on the (once again) fantastic service! Thanks The 2-A's and KNK!

    Yep,
Service was fast on blades for me too. The main part of my family Christmas has been celebrated. I had fun making boxes and tags with my Zing. I did some writing with the Open Path fonts that were shared. I have to learn to remember to change my blade offsets. I'd suggest Andy put in a buzzer to remind us but when I'm doing something I tune out the noises around me so it wouldn't help. lol. Darlene
  • Oh my gosh, I bit the bullet and ordered a Zing!! So much for trying to staunder $250 I hope DH understands!!! Wish me luck! When should I start looking for the package?
