I know there's an old one floating around out there, but since we have a lot of new users and more active users I would like to see a new updated list created. Is this something you guys would be interested in??
I think it shouldn't be posted online but emailed out. I know I don't want everyone knowing my address who could just di a search. I'd be willing to help out if enough want to do!
We definitely wouldn't post the list online. We can have a specific thread for RAK acknowledgements, however I don't want to go so far as to require a thank you. To me a random act of kindness is just that and shouldn't require a thank you.
Reba, that is funny I just looked at one of the old one two days ago and wondered about updates or if anyone was still doing them, also. Ann, I agree RAKs are just that! Count me in!
I did not mean to publish adresses etc. just somewhere where you just say I received a RAC today. To this day I do not know if the 3 people who I sent a RAC to received it. Plus some people receive a lot and some nothing. Am I wrong in thinking that I should know that it got there? It was on the Cricut board not here. Then they made a post for the next one so that you just say I received a RAC thank you...That's it.

I would be interested. Just curious about how it works. Is there a theme? How do we know everyone will receive something? Is there a dollar amount or value everyone sticks with?
I think there should be a place to let the sender know you received their item and to thank them. Like Martha says, "It's a good thing." ;o)

Often cards and such are truly out-of-the-blue and random but usually birthdays and other special days are listed so if you want to send a BD or anniversary card, you can. And occasionally someone will just send you a surprise in the mail! It's a wonderful feeling to open that surprise envie or package! Maybe they remember you discussing that you could not get any silver glitter (or whatever) and they had extra - so they packed it up and sent it on to you. And the thought is to "pay it forward" and surprise someone else.
If you bought too much of an item (glitter or buttons, etc) and will not be using it, then pay it forward and surprise someone with a RAK. It's a little harder for the pack rats among us (we know who we are, lol!) but a good exercise none-the-less.
I love Raking ppl. Personally I'd rather that person just send me an email if they want to let me know it got there or a private message. I agree with Ann , I dont think that it should be required to post that you recieved it , but I agree with Veronika Id love to know that it actually arrived to them and is not lost in the mail. Most ppl are so tickled to be thought of they let you know right away. I remember when I was raked by 3 lovely ladies on this forum with handmade birthday cards (You know who you are). IT WAS the highlight of my bday!!! it was a total surprise and really came at a time when I could use a little lift. Count me in on the RAK list lol, Im rak crazy! and Christmas time is coming !!!
I think Nelda was the first person I ever RAKed ..I had too she was the enabling queen even back then!!! Someone ought to buy her a crown for sure!!! Love ya Nelda :)
When we were active before on here with the RAK, it was all very, very random. And we did have a discussion thread where people would just post a "thank you I received a RAK from XXX today!" or something like that. I remember one thing was the googly eyes with the eyelashes. Some of us had easy access to them, so we bought plenty (they were cheap) and RAKed them to those that couldn't get them.
I would like to sign up again, but since I haven't been around in a while, would I be welcome??? :-( Man, life has sucked these last few months. Ugh...but I am starting to get my crafting itch back, so I am ready again!!

A RAK list is just that. RANDOM. There's no guarantee everyone on the list will receive one. Possibly some people will be rak'ed more often than others for various reasons. There is no dollar amount/value. It's just an act of kindness. How little or how much you want to send to someone is up to each person. There aren't any rules. It's just a database of addresses so if you WANT to surprise someone with something - even if it's just a card - you can and they won't know until they get it because you didn't have to ask them for their address. :D
I'll be adding me! :D

:) That's why I just had everyone PM me, then I would know their username - using my noodle!
:-)) I figured you would copy and paste the info so that's why I mentioned it. You wouldn't have had to keep track of who sent the info.
