Overlapped I/O Operation Error when cutting to a KNK

I'm reviewing the Webinar from last night and there was a question from a KNK owner who was getting an error message when trying to cut to the KNK from MTC. The message mentions the following term: "Overlapped I/O Operation Error."

This occurs when you have the wrong Serial Port selected. In that drop-down list, see if you have another choice. Specifically you are looking for a COM Port assignment that says "COM X (USB Serial Port)", where X is whatever number has been assigned. Note that if you unplug your KNK and then plug it into a different USB Port on your computer, the X will change.

Further, in that drop-down menu you may have other choices that will not work. For example, my menu also has a COM Y (PCI Serial Port). If I choose that and try to cut, then I get that exact error regarding "Overlapped I/O Operation Error."

If you or any other KNK owners have any issues getting MCI to communicate, please email me at [email protected] and I'll help you.
