Hello all...
I have finished a program which creates 100% unique jigsaw puzzles. These generated puzzles are created for cutters... It doesn't create separate jigsaw pieces... it creates cutlines to make sure you get a perfectly cut puzzle. It creates these puzzles using just Bezier curves so its output is extremely scalable.
Data is output in (90 DPI) SVG format so you can import it anywhere you want it.
This program is in Demo mode unless you have registered MTC.
This program will be included in version 3.3 of MTC. It will not be built-in to MTC since it's not a feature that is really essential to cutting machines (I hate cluttering up the UI with not-so-popular features) -- instead it will be installed as a separate program just as it is now (but under your startmenu>>programs>>mtc! section on your computer)
You can, however, play around with it now -- Just download right to your desktop. This program is now included with Make The Cut version 3.3.2 and newer. You can download here:
http://www.make-the-cut.com/download.aspxTo get to it, click your Start Menu, Programs, Make The Cut! directory.
Check out what Chad from KNK did with this!:

Action VideoHere is the default program setup:

You can create completely unique designs that do not necessarily have to do with puzzles

You have tons of options to choose from as far as customizing your puzzle:

Cut this! I dare you!
I don't often test my code... But when I do, I do it in production.

You are sooo cool. I can't wait to try this.
I played with sizes and number of pieces - very nice.
You are awesome.
Thanks
How do you find the time to do this stuff? I mean really... a new release, a new baby on the way, a toddler and all that trash you have to take out... oh and the plugins for all the various machines. Do you EVER sleep???
Thanks for the new toy Andy & Ann (I'm sure Ann had much to do with this - right?) :-D
Still very new to the cougar but I will be playing around with this.
Thanks so much, Andy

cutting with black cat cougar
Thanks so much!
Thanks again for a great addition to MTC!
BTW is it possible to make the pieces into actual shapes from these .svg files? when I break the .svg it consists of the outer border and the rank and file cuts to separate the pieces when it is cut. Perfect for making a puzzle from a printed picture - no need to double cut the lines that border two pieces.
But I tried using the fuse and weld - thought it would anchor the ends and crossing points to make it possible to break the puzzle into pieces. That didn't work. I know this would not be desirable for use in making puzzle cuts of a picture - just wondering if there is a way to do it?

I see a lot of my friends, who like puzzles, getting their own personalized puzzles for Christmas this year. And you can make them harder or easier by altering the number of pieces.
I'd love to know how to pull one piece out of the puzzle. I've made cards before with the outline of the puzzle pieces drawn with one piece cut out and offset. But it is difficult to change shapes for different size cards. This is great and would make it easier to do but I've tried to isolate a piece but no joy.
I had tried exporting from MTC! to a .PNG for use in doing a pixel trace - but MTC! made extra lines in the file that cut off the tab/key pieces - so that didn't work. I then tried saving from InkScape to a .PNG - and got a file I could pixel trace - works great - the resulting vector includes all the pieces and the whole border as individual shapes (after a "break") Now I can do an autism puzzle graphic -with some of the pieces "missing" or just off to the side waiting to be placed into the puzzle - which is a theme for a lot of the t-shirt and banners they use.
Great Great Great - Thanks!
