  • My daughter purchased a few minutes again - the website at that time still said it supported cricut, she downloaded the trial and went back to check something else and the notice had been posted that it no longer supported Cricut - can she get a refund or is there something else that can be done because it still showed support for Cricut when she made her purchase.

I bought mine this morning and everything seems fine.

What does this mean for us? I mean, is there an update to MTC that will render the Cricut part unusable?

Not to sound like we are not supportive, at all....I am currently looking at getting a new cutter that CAN and WILL work with MTC, rather than my Cricut. I would rather get a new machine than a new software. Luv you guys.

I would rather have MTC than any PC product. I will continue to support MTC and let my friends and family (and anyone else who will listen) know how wonderful MTC is and what an outstanding programmer you are. Thanks for such a fantastic program.

100% support you! Thanks Ann and Andy for all you do. You are the BEST!!!!
  • My Expression has been donated and I have a Lynx that should arrive tomorrow. The cutter is far less important to me than the software. In some respects - the cutter is nothing but glorified scissors. The REAL creativity comes from the software. Thanks to Ann and Andy for all you have done for us - and I look forward to continuing to use my MTC software with a cutter that believes in creativity!!!

Hope I can save $$$ for new cutter but it's gonna prob take me a long time. I just bought MTC for my in law in January she just downloaded drivers last night her hubby works on my computer, owed them). I am very upset but I do understand. I may have to ask a favor of someone to cut a few stencils for me. I had 3 projects to do and can't cut my stencils now, that I needed for them. Sorry for all the PC owners. But goodluck to all and thank you for the time I had here. Hopefully, will be able to figure how to afford a different cutter; hock a kidney or something. Thanks Andy, Ann, SBryan, Jule, Z, Dana, CaseysAngel and on and on and on. You were all very helpful and very supportive. May come back to just visit once in a while. God Bless All!!!

  • How do I check to see what version I have? I checked "properties" but it doesn't say - at least not where I can see. Thanks
  • Ok - my daughter just installed and her version does give the cut to cricut option - does that mean she will be okay?

When you have the program open, go to Help>About, and that will tell you what version of MTC you are using.

looks like my new pink cricut will be going back to walmart and getting my money back to use toward a new cutter of some kind.
  • I'm glad the mess with PC is over finally. I'm even more glad that I bought a Gazelle last year and have no need to bother with PC.

Hugs to you both Ann and Andy. MTC rocks!

ok...what does this mean?? If we have MTC on our computer and have been using it for months with our cricut, will it still work????
I do not have a cricut but it is so wrong that people can not do what they want with the machine they have paid for. I have a Cougar and we are told of all the software that we can cut from.

  • Thanks - I checked and I have the 1.2.2 version. It did ask me to upgrade when I opened it, but I was afraid to and checked "no". I love MTC and will keep this older version if there is any possibility that I would lose my opportunity to use it with my Cricut. I can't afford another cutter right now.

Andy and Ann we love you, appreciate you and will always be here to support you. As so many others have said I have no heartburn getting rid of ALL my PC and Novelty Inc products but there is NO WAY I would want to lose MTC!

This software is awesome and worth moving up to a better machine. I just feel for all the crafters who will no longer get to experience this freedom (with the crapcut) and hope that they realize the worth of buying a better machine to start with.

Looks like I will be a "closet MTC user" for a while. B-) But I bet before summer, I will come out of the closet and claim a new cutter. NO WAY will I give up my MTC.

  • The trial download still shows v 3.2.1 - so did they not put any type of designation to indicate the changes? Just wondering?
  • Andy, I am very sorry about everything that you have endured with PC! I don't want to sound like I am not supportive of you...I am, but I have sooooooo much money tied up in PC/Cricut products that it just isn't feasible for me to go out and buy another cutter. I have seen other people say that as long as we don't upgrade MTC or Cricut we will still be able to use MTC. Is this true? I love the program and want to be able to use it with the Cricut...I sure wish PC would've paid you a lot of money to design this program for them!!! We would've had the best of both worlds!!
  • Thank you for all you have done.
Love MTC and looking into a new cutter.

Thanks, Andy for this info. I have decided to purchase a Gazelle to replace the crapcut. Was just waiting for your announcement to make the final decision of what to get to replace old crappy.
  • I love my MTC also and want to continue to use it. I would also like an answer as to whether or not it will continue to work if we do not upgrade or update firmware. I simply cannot afford a new cutter (Unemployment in this house) and really want to continue using MTC! Believe me, as soon as things come around in the financial department I will look into a different cutting machine but would really like to know what to expect from my current version....someone please answer.....

I read on someones blog, that there was no financial payments from either party to the others.. so if that is true, that is very good news.

Without MTC, my Cricut Expression is useless to me.
I'll be buying a new machine when I figure out which one is best (in my price range) for my needs. The most important feature is "works with MTC."
I paid more for one cartridge than I paid for the wonderful world of MTC....and never got updates or support from Provo Craft.

  • Please please be careful though. I have tried for 2 days to print and cut on mine and it doesn't work Now I'm down too cutters. I had a Gazelle and an expression. Now I have scissors.
  • Dear Ann and Andy,
I hate that this has happened to you, I have been a advocate for MTC since the first day I purchased it. Right now I am researching which cutter to buy to replace my PC expression, or should I say expressionless. I would never give up MTC. You two have always been awesome and cared about all of us. You have opened up a whole new world of possibilities to so many people, you should be very proud. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say we are proud of you! Keep up the great work!

Thanks Andy and Ann. It's been a long year for you I am sure. As hard as it is on Cricut users - in the long run - your family is better off to have this resolved and move on to bigger and better things. Your product is a million times better than ANYTHING that company who shall not be named has put out - and I should know - I have way too much of it BUT will no longer buy anything that has their name on it! Glad I bought my Cougar when it was first announced MTC would work with it. :-D Guess I had foresight I didn't realize. LOL Now - to educate the world that their are other and significantly better options then that product!
    Go Vols!
