Paper Portraits: Tupac and Notorious B.I.G

I have been busy painting the house this week and didn't have time to cut any new portraits out, but thought I would upload two older ones I done. A friend wanted a Tupac and decided I have to do Biggie Smalls to go along with it. (they are hip hop artists that died about 10 years ago).

I am working on some Harry Potter ones for next week.

Very nice, do you display all of your work?

  • No, I probably have another 20 or so portraits that I haven't displayed. Plus, I have a bunch of random paper art I have created over the last 2 years.

Well you should!!! You need an art exhibit for sure!!!

  • That's funny you say that. I was just thinking about names if I were to exhibit them a couple weeks ago. My favorite was, "Scissors, Paper, ROCK!" It would be nothing but rock-n-roll musicians through the ages. My second favorite was, "Paperazzi". I thought it was appropriate since I consider myself a paper paparazzi.

It's official! I showed these 2 to my 23 year old and you are very cool. You already were when I showed her the twilight ones and a few others but now your street cred is way up there because you have covered it all but her favourite rock bands. She loves Harry Potter and the gang too.

  • Yes!! I have street cred. ... lol ... Wait until I can afford a 24" Cougar and I can start making bigger stencils for making street art... then it's on.

Tammy, these are 12x12 to mimic an album cover (or CD cover for you younger folks). I also do a lot of 8x10 and 11x14.

K_Lee, thanks. I decided to use the name Paperazzi as my next artpiece I'm actually submitting for a "call for artists" that is due the end of March. It will be in the style of my portraits but with separate sublayers of color. It will be 16x20 with at least 25 colors in it.
