Hi Everyone!
I’m hoping you can help me! I wanted to know how to use MTC with my cricut expression to cut out a rhinestone transfer. What series of steps do I do once MTC is open to get my design outlined in the circles? Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

    Courtney ,

It's VERY easy to change a design into a rhinestone template.

Once you get the design you want to use inside mtc you simply select it, right click, and choose shapemagic/rhinestone. you can use the bar and change the spacing if you'd like.

Wonderful! I had no idea that was even an option =)

To change the spacing, I just drag and drop?

How do I know what size rhinestones I need? What about the material I cut it on? Is there a certain "list of supplies" I need before I being this adventure? =)

So, I don't have that option to select rhinestone. I only have the following:
    mirror
    flip
    split
    layer
    break
    bezier warp
    shadow layer
advanced > (several options here, none of which are rhinestone)

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

you have an old version then. You need to download the new version of mtc. you must still be running in 2.3.2. you need 3.0 or higher.

You are missing MANY features actually.LOL YOu are missing tiler, rhinestone, lattice, text on path just from what I can think of off the top of my head.

emmie, what version are you using? The Rhinestone feature is new to Ver 3.2.

IMPORTANT: be sure you upgrade your firmware BEFORE installing the new version. What cutter are you using?

The Rhinestone feature is available of the toolbar, if you don't have it then you don't have the latest version.

Nelda she said in her original post she was using the Cricut expression.

Another wards you need 2.34 firmware. Here is how Andy says to do that and then you can get the new version off the home page.

Download the latest version of Cricut Design Studio from here:
    http://content.cricut.com/b/downloads/software/DesignStudio/Setup.exe

Try to cut with Design Studio and follow it's instructions for upgrading your firmware. Once you get Design Studio to cut, Make The Cut will cut.

^^ just keep copying and pasting that anytime someone says it doesn't work. So far it has solved 100% of the issues.

I suppose I am on the older version. How do I know I have the firmware first?

Can one of you give me info on how to update that? And then how to update MTC?

Sorry- I just had the worst trouble installing it in the first place and don't want to go through that again =)

I'm running it to the Expression.

Look above honey. I just did. Just follow Andy, owner of MTC, directions.

You might already have 2.34 firmware on your expression. TO find out turn it on and see what it says after the V on the LED screen on the cricut. It should say either 2.34 or 2.31. You need it to say 2.34

    Awesome! Got it working!
Now, are there step by step instructions for what type material I need to cut this on, and what size stones I need, etc?

Yall are the BEST- thank you so much =)

nope you can pick whatever size stones you want to use and you might want to do a search if you are looking for specific transfer tape and stuff. I have no idea on that stuff but I know I ask before and there is a huge thread on it somewhere. I'll try and find it for you.
